The Nigerian Army has officially started the 90 Regular Recruits Intake for Non-Tradesmen and women.

The announcement was made by the Army Headquarters on Tuesday through a post on its verified X handle.

According to the Army, the recruitment process begins with online registration and is scheduled to expire on 14th November, 2025.

“This is to inform the general public and all interested applicants that the online application for the 90 Regular Recruits Intake for Non-Tradesmen & Women has commenced.

About the 2025 Nigerian Army Recruitment

The Nigerian Army (NA) is one of Africa’s largest and most respected land forces, operating under the Nigerian Armed Forces alongside the Navy and Air Force.

The 2025 recruitment exercise aims to fill various categories of positions through:

  1. Regular Recruit Intake (RRI) – For non-tradesmen and tradesmen/women (secondary school certificate holders).

  2. Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) – For university graduates and professionals.

  3. Short Service Combatant (SSC) – For those seeking short-term active service.

Basic Requirements / Qualifications

  • Applicants must be single and Nigerian citizen by birth, and must possess National Identity Card/NIN and BVN print out.
  • All applicants must possess a minimum of 4 passes including English Language in not more than 2 sittings in WASCE / GCE / NECO / NABTEB and NBAIS.
  • In addition to the above qualifications, those applying as trades men/women must also possess Trade Test / City and Guild Certificate. Details are available on the website.
  • Applicants must be medically, physically and psychologically fit in accordance with Nigerian Army standards.
  • Applicants must be free of any criminal conviction by the court of law.
  • Applicants must possess a valid birth certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital or Local Government Council, or age declaration.
  • Applicants must possess a valid certificate of state of origin.
  • Applicants must not be less than 1.68 metres and 1.65 metres tall for male and female candidates respectively.
  • An applicant must not be less than 18 years or more than 22 years for non-trades men/women, while trades men/women must not be more than 26 years as at 30 Dec 25.
  • Interested candidates are advised to log on to the NA recruitment website https://recruitment.army.mil.ng to complete online registration from 29 Sep – 14 Nov 25.

General Instructions

  • Candidates are to note that there will be no Pre Selection Computer Based Test.
  • No special centre for recruitment.
  • There will be no Zonal Screening Exercise.
  • All screening of potential recruits will be conducted at the candidates’ respective state of origin.
  • Candidates are not to bring electronic or recording devices to the venue of the State Recruitment Exercise.
  • Tattoo, Piercing or Inscription on any part of the body other than tribal marks are not allowed.
  • Candidates must tender all original copies of educational certificates (primary to secondary)
  • Multiple piercing of ears for female are not allowed.
  • Candidates must not belong to any cult/society/fraternity.
  • Any candidate who falsifies or forges his/her results and is discovered even during training at Depot NA will be withdrawn from training.
  • Candidates are advised in their own interest not give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them in the recruitment exercise.
  • Candidates are to come with their NIN slip and BVN print out.

  • Names of shortlisted candidates for screening will be published on the NA website for awareness of all candidates.
  • Shortlisted candidates are expected to report to their respective states of origin for the screening exercise from 4 – 17 Dec 25.
